The Theme Parks

Orlando is the place to go for holiday fun. The sheer number of attractions is staggering and you could go a whole 2 weeks without ever visiting one of the parks.

In the section below, we've outlined the main parks and attractions.

Brits in Orlando

Islands of Adventure (Universal Studios)

Possibly the most energetic and nerve-wracking day you'll have (also possibly the wettest too). There are too many rides to list, but there is something for everyone. The main focus is on fast and exhilarating rides though, so it's not one for the faint-hearted.

Universal Studios

The original of the 2 Universal parks. There are more movie-themed rides and attractions here including ET, MIB, Revenge of the Mummy and Shrek 4D. Some of the attractions can be a bit intensive for little ones, but meeting the characters will put a smile back on their faces before too long.

Magic Kingdom (Disney)

A great place to start or end your holiday. This sums up what Disney World is all about - family fun. There are plenty of rides for all ages and lots of opportunities for photographs and souvenir hunting. The view up Main Street towards the castle is amazing and makes a great backdrop for photographs. If you can, make time to see the parades.

EPCOT (Disney)

A quieter day out, but there are a few good rides here such as Test Track, Mission Space and Soarin. The World Showcase is a good place to stroll about and sample food and drink from around the World - pints are quite expensive though!

Disney-MGM Studios

This is where you will find some more extreme rides such as Tower of Terror, Rock N Rollercoaster and Star Tours. This movie-themed park is great for all ages as there are also things to do for the little ones such as Playhouse Disney live on stage.

Animal Kingdom (Disney)

Animal Kingdom is another enjoyable park, but at a more relaxed pace. There are thrill rides such as Expedition Everest and Dinosaur, but the focus is on more relaxed family fun. Highlights include The Lion King stage show, It's Tough to be a Bug and Kilimanjaro Safari.

Sea World

There is a lot of ground to cover at Sea World. There are a couple of big rides, but most attractions are shows and exhibitions. One of the main highlights, apart from the brilliant Shamu show, is the Budweiser hospitality center, where you can get free samples!

Disney Links

If you're planning your trip to Walt Disney World, half the fun is researching your destination. Disney-Links.com has created the ultimate directory of websites about Disney resorts. By using a search engine you will only find about half of the sites that are featured on this site, as only a handful ever make the first couple of pages of results. This site has dug much deeper to return the results.
