Booking terms and conditions
Payment Process
Availability must be checked with ourselves and a letter of confirmation received by the guests, before booking flights etc.
For every booking, a security deposit will be required (see the Security Deposit section below).
A letter of confirmation will be sent to you – email or post. This will list the dates and total cost of your stay.
The balance of the holiday must be paid 10 weeks before the date of arrival at the villa. If this does not happen, we will treat this as a cancellation without payment received (see the Security Deposit section below).
For short notice bookings (those less than 10 weeks before the date of arrival at the villa), full payment and the security deposit must be received within a reasonable amount of time.
Once full payment is received, we will treat the booking as complete and send you all relevant details, along with a receipt.
We accept credit/debit cards via Paypal, with a 3% fee added, cheques, postal orders and cash (by arrangement only).
Security Deposit
A security deposit of £100 per week is required. There will be a maximum charge of £200 per visit. Guests are requested to send this in the form of a cheque made payable to Mark Minghella, with the cheque guarantee card details on the reverse. This cheque will not be cashed and will be returned to the seller unless:
-
there is found to be damage caused by the guests during their stay
-
the booking is cancelled prior to 6 weeks before the date of arrival at the villa
-
the booking is cancelled without payment having been received
-
pool and spa heating are used without prior arrangement & payment
The purpose of this deposit is to:
-
provisionally book your accommodation with us
-
provide funds should there be damage to the villa or its contents
Use of the Villa
Guests are encouraged to make themselves at home and enjoy their time. All we ask is that you take god care of the villa and its contents – a good rule of thumb is to leave it in the condition that you would have expected it to be in i.e. clean, tidy and undamaged.
The villa is no-smoking and we are strict about this. If you do need to smoke, outside areas can be used, but we do ask that you clean away all litter e.g. cigarette ends, used matches etc.
Use of the Swimming Pool & Spa
Safety is the key element here. We want everyone to have a good time and enjoy their stay. Please follow these guidelines:
-
do not allow young children or weaker swimmers to swim unattended
-
do not use the pool or spa if you have had alcohol, are pregnant, on medication, have a heart condition or are a young child
-
do not take glass or other breakables into the pool area
-
do not pass bodily waste in the pool
-
always ensure the child security gate is locked (but this is not a substitute for supervision)
-
pool and spa heating must be paid for in advance
Cleaning
A mid-stay cleaning can be organised if requested for a fee of £50. We do expect that guests will leave the villa clean and tidy on departure.
